As you know a bust is a sculpted representation of the upper part of the human figure, depicting a person’s head and neck, and a variable portion of the chest and shoulders.
The piece is normally supported by a plinth.
The bust is generally a portrait intended to record the appearance of an individual, put by admiration and often in honoring for services to the community or company.
In general the materials used to make the bust can be any medium used for sculpture, such as marble, bronze, terracotta, plaster, wax or wood.
In the classical antiquity the bust was a prestigious method to bring emperors closer to the attentin of the people and in the Renaissance it became a grateful tool in many leading families
to express dignity, class and an ever lasting visualisation and memory of a person.
Today the bust gains popularity again in many decorations of houses, palaces and public buildings.
